UPDATE:
Health and Human Services Reopens Friday
Montrose County Health and Human Services Offices located at 1845 South Townsend Avenue experienced a two-day closure following environmental testing related to the renovation of the west wing area. A small portion of debris in the west wing tested positive for low levels of asbestos containing materials. Although the area being renovated is physically separated from the HHS area, as a measure of extreme caution following the recommendation of the county's environmental consultant, the decision was made to close HHS. Further testing and air-sampling was conducted during the closure to assure the safety of employees and the public. This testing revealed no asbestos related issues in the HHS side of the building. All Health and Human Services operations will open at 8am on Friday, February 1. Montrose County apologizes for the inconvenience.

UPDATE: Please be advised that Montrose County Health and Human Services will be closed for Thursday, January 31st as well. We apologize for the inconvenience and expect to re-open for business on Friday, February 1st.
