Montrose, COLO.--Montrose County is pleased to welcome Keith Laube as the new County Engineer. Mr. Laube has degrees in civil and geotechnical engineering, a master's degree in business administration, 25 years of engineering experience, and a Colorado Professional Engineer license. As the county engineer, Mr. Laube is responsible for civil engineering management and oversight to road and bridge activities including design and review of road projects.
"As an experienced professional in both the public and private sector, Keith brings a wealth of knowledge to Montrose County and I am confident he will be an asset to the team here," said County Manager Ken Norris.
Mr. Laube's previous work experience includes seven years as the Public Works Director at the City of Newton in Newton, Iowa; eight years as owner of a civil and geotechnical engineering company; and several years of private engineering experience. Mr. Laube joins Montrose County following the departure of former Engineer Dean Cooper. His office is located in the Road and Bridge Facility at 949 North 2nd Street.
Mr. Laube describes himself as a team player who likes to solve problems. At his previous job, Keith was instrumental in streamlining processes and creating a team work environment. This resulted in a workforce focused on improvements that increased customer service and reduced costs. He looks forward to working with the staff and citizens of Montrose County.
Mr. Laube grew up on a family farm in Iowa, and he and his wife, Julie, are excited to move back to Colorado. They enjoy being involved in community theater, hiking, biking, and skiing. They have three adult children and one grandchild. He also enjoys playing saxophone.
