Keith was born in Montrose and raised on a ranch near Colona. After graduating from Montrose High School, he worked in the construction field for 16 years on projects in the U.S. and overseas. His wife, Tawna, and their children decided to return to Colorado and raise their children in Montrose. He became a certified police officer in 1990, and worked up through the ranks to the position of Commander at the Montrose Police Department. Keith holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Mesa State College, and a Masters in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Executive Leadership from the University of Colorado. Keith is also a graduate from the FBI’s National Academy and Northwestern University Traffic Institute School of Staff and Command.
