Recording the first page of each document, legal size or less, unless specified below. $13
Recording each additional page of a document following the first page, legal size or less. $5
Recording first page of town plats, subdivision plats, and all other plats. $13
Recording each additional page of a town plat, subdivision plat, and all other plats. $10
Deposit of survey plat. $20
Recording the first page of a mining claim document. $8
Recording each additional page of a mining claim document. $5
Recording fee per claim. $0.25
Documentary fee, if consideration is more than $500 on a deed which transfers property and is not exempt, per each thousand dollars of consideration given. $0.10
Application and recording fee for Marriage/Civil Union license (cash or credit card only). $30
Copy of plat 24x36 (per page). $7
Certified copy of marriage/civil union license. $1.25
Certifying and sealing copy of a recorded document. $1

Federal Tax Liens and any documents related to Federal tax liens. $8

Release of Deed of Trust

Release of Deed of Trust must be sent to the Montrose County Treasurer's Office before recording.

Mining Claims

For information on Location Certificates and Maintenance fees please visit the BLM website.

When recording yearly maintenance fees with the Montrose County Clerk & Recorders office the charges are:

  • $8.00 for first page
  • $5.00 each additional page
  • Add .25 cents per claim.

UCC's

UCC's recorded into the real estate records- fees are:

  • One or two pages: $13
  • Three or more pages: $18
  • Recording via e-Recording: $8 flat fee
