Marriage License
To obtain a marriage license, both parties need to be present. Each will need proof of age, birth certificate or drivers license, and social security number. The cost is $30 cash. The license is good for 30 days, and may be used anywhere in the state of Colorado. The license must be returned to the County Clerk and Recorder's Office after the ceremony for recording.
Birth Records
All Colorado birth records are available from 1934 through the statewide COVIS system installed in our office; and Montrose County birth records are available from 1910.
The fee is $17.75 for a search OR the first copy, and $10 per additional copy of same record, requested at the same time. We do not accept personal checks- only cash, money order, or certified check please.
